In a sense, A&D Asphalt was founded in 2002. What started as a side job for the owner, Travis, eventually made its way to become a legitimate business. Travis, family, and friends would set out on weekends, completing small seal jobs. As years went by, weekends filled with jobs, and word of mouth turned a side hustle into something bigger. Eventually the demand made the decision for him — it was time to make it official.
Fast forward to 2020, COVID-19 made many people who helped with A&D on the weekends lose their full-time jobs. These loyal friends came to Travis and asked him to go legit (a 9-5 Monday through Friday, if you will). This was a lot of pressure for Travis, as he'd never had the full weight of running a company and being depended upon to put money in the pockets of people who needed to put food on the table. But knowing Travis, he was up for the challenge, he said yes, and A&D Asphalt went from a weekend crew to a real company with real jobs, built on the same loyalty that got it there in the first place.
If you ever get the pleasure of knowing or talking to Travis, you'll quickly realize he's selfless and a man of the people. He put them on his back, and A&D Asphalt LLC was born. Since then, A&D has grown with the goal of being the people's company. Travis does not act like an owner because it's the people and clients who run the company. That mindset is what A&D was built on, and it's what keeps people coming back to work for him.
Travis encourages the employees and clients to ask if something can be done a certain way. The company is young and like a ball of clay, ever-changing into a beautiful piece of art built specifically for the client with quality, care, and them in mind. This isn't our company, it's yours.
